On September 13 came to us with a visit one of the participants of the 44th Congress of Polish Physicists, prof. Shuji Nakamura - 2014 Nobel Prize winner in Physics (area: semiconductor technology) (https://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/2014/nakamura-facts.html).
He received it for (a quote from the Nobel Prize organization) “the invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes which have enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources."
Together with him, the prize was also awarded to Isamu Akasaki and Hiroshi Amano, also for the work on the technology of gallium nitride semiconductor technology, which led to the production of efficient blue LEDs.
Professor Nakamura participated in a seminar, where our latest and most important research programs were presented and then visited one of our cleanrooms.
